In addition to coating the alkali-resistant coating, the main alkali-resistant way of the glass rod is to form a mixed film of zirconium and titanium ions on the surface of the fiber itself to prevent the erosion of alkaline substances. With the increase of time, the chemical state of zirconium gradually tends to be stable. The alkali resistance retention rate of the glass rod is greater than 85%, which is much higher than other Fiber Glass, so we can also call it a natural glass rod.
The defect of alkali-resistant Fiber Glass is the high production cost, which is related to zircon, rutile and melting temperature, and also because of its short material properties, the initial strength is not as good as that of medium alkali and alkali-free glass rod.
