Methods to test glass rod performance indicators

1. Status in the container: Open the container, stir manually, and allow some precipitation at the bottom of the container. When it is easy to mix evenly after stirring, it can be defined as "no lumps after stirring".

2. Water resistance: test the glass rod resistance to water. Test method: Construct the glass rod on the plaster layer. Under the specified conditions, soak the glass rod in distilled water. 2/3 of the glass rod is immersed in the water and 1/3 is placed above the water surface. , after soaking for 96 hours, check whether the surface of the glass rod has whitening, loss of gloss, blistering, falling off, etc. If not, the glass rod has passed the test.
3. Alkali resistance: test the resistance of the Fiber Glass to alkaline substances. Test method: Construct the glass rod on the asbestos board. Under the specified conditions, soak the glass rod in a certain concentration of alkali solution. The same as the water resistance test method, 2/3 of the glass rod is immersed in water. Within, 1/3 is placed above the water surface. Generally, after soaking for 48 hours, observe whether the glass rod has whitening, loss of gloss, blistering, falling off, etc.
4. Brushability: Test method: Two pieces of glass rod (600㎜×600㎜), apply half of the epoxy varnish on each plate evenly as the sealing layer, dry for 24 hours, and then apply mixed mortar. The paint is applied on the entire piece. When it can be distributed evenly on the glass rod and stretches (spreads) well, it can be rated as "no brush marks after brushing and no impact on the substrate."
5. Contrast ratio: Also called hiding power test, it tests the covering ability of glass rod on the base surface. Test method: Construct the grid cloth on black and white paper, and under specified conditions, use a reflectance meter to test the different reflectivities on the black and white paper, namely Rb and Rw, contrast ratio = Rb/Rw (such as: 0.87, 0.90, 0.93, 0.95, etc.).
6. Pollution resistance: Test the ability of the Fiber Glass to resist atmospheric dust. Test method: Apply the glass rod to the wall, first test its reflectivity value A, and then apply 0.7g of mixed mortar on the glass rod.
