How to correctly use glass yarn in exterior wall insulation system

1. Under what circumstances may the surface layer crack

① When the density of the glass yarn is insufficient or the longitude and latitude lines are not straight, it will cause insufficient binding force during the expansion and contraction of the surface layer, and may even cause "breakage", which will not play the role of constraining the "ribs" and may easily cause the surface layer to crack;

② There are too few butt joints, dry overlaps, and overlapping glass yarn, and the glass yarn is not close to the insulation board, which will cause the glass yarn to be unable to be effectively bonded with the anti-crack mortar, and it will not be able to form an anti-crack with good deformation resistance. The protective layer affects the deformation stress transmission and crack resistance and impact resistance, and is prone to produce straight and long cracks;
2. How to use glass yarn correctly to prevent cracking
① Use glass yarn with qualified quality. It is strictly forbidden to butt and dry overlap the glass yarn. The overlap shall not be less than 50mm. The first floor wall, door and window openings and sun corners should be reinforced with double-layer glass yarn, and glass yarn should be affixed along the 45° direction at the four corners of the opening. A 2m high metal corner guard is installed at the sun corner of the wall on the first floor.
② Use qualified polymer plastering mortar. Strict on-site construction technology. The surface mortar should be applied twice. First apply 2 to 3 mm of the bottom mortar, and then press the Fiber Glass into the mortar. It should be flat and compact, and wrinkles on the Fiber Glass are strictly prohibited. Before the bottom layer of plastering mortar solidifies, apply another layer of plastering mortar to the surface, with a thickness of 1 to 2 mm. It is appropriate to only cover the glass yarn and slightly see the outline of the glass yarn. Do not knead the surface mortar continuously to avoid hollowing. When the polymer plaster mortar has not fully reached the normal strength of final setting, it should be prevented from being soaked in water, frozen or losing water too quickly to cause cracks.
