It is made of medium-alkali-free Fiber glass yarn (the main component is silicate and has good chemical stability) and is twisted with a special leno structure. Glass rod production process:
1. 14.5%~16.7% zirconium dioxide and 6% titanium dioxide are introduced into the glass composition. After melting at a high temperature of 1600°C, the platinum is leak-drawn into continuous filaments, which are spliced and twisted into textile Fiber Glass, and then drawn. During the process, the monofilament is coated with polymer water-soluble epoxy resin and coupling agent to ensure the affinity of the Fiber Glass with the alkali-resistant polymer during post-processing.
2. In order to further improve the safe, stable and durable performance of the glass rod, after the warp knitting is processed into leno shape, it is coated with styrene-butadiene rubber and pure acrylic emulsion again, and constant temperature, constant speed and constant tension control technology is used to make the adhesive fully effective in the early stage. Resist the erosion of the glass rod during the hydration period of polymer mortar Ca(OH)2. The anti-slip strength of the grid cloth intersection point after coating is 3.5~4.5N.
3. In addition to the alkali-resistant coating, the main alkali-resistant way of glass rod is to form a mixed film of zirconium and titanium ions on the surface of the fiber itself to prevent the erosion of alkaline substances. As time goes by, the chemical state of zirconium gradually becomes stable. The alkali resistance retention rate of glass rod is greater than 85%, which is much higher than other Fiber Glass alkali-resistant coated glass rod, so we can also call it a natural glass rod.
The disadvantage of glass rod is its high production cost, which is related to zircon, rutile and melting temperature. It also has short material properties and its initial strength is not as good as that of medium-alkali and alkali-free glass rod.
